Spark New Zealand Enters Memorandum of Understanding to Collaborate on Standardized Network Application Programming Interfaces

Spark New Zealand (ASX:SPK, NZE:SPK), One NZ, and 2degrees signed the GSMA Open Gateway memorandum of understanding for collaboration on standardized network application programming interfaces (APIs), according to a Tuesday statement.

The firms will develop common APIs through the GSMA Open Gateway that are compatible and can be easily integrated across networks, using guidelines set by CAMARA, an open-source initiative. They will initially focus on scam and fraud prevention APIs such as "Number Verification" and "SIM Swap."

Spark's shares fell over 1% in early trading on the Australian bourse on Tuesday.
