The strikes on Iran don't appear to have had an impact on the nation's oil exports so far, preliminary vessel tracking data show, as traders stay on alert for any disruptions to Middle Eastern oil flows. Iran, a key member of the OPEC cartel, has continued to load tankers with crude for export throughout the weekend following the early Saturday strikes, according to ship-tracking service TankerTrackers.com.
In the days leading up to the attacks, Iran had accelerated oil loadings, likely in anticipation of possible military action, analysts say. Between Feb. 23 and 28 Iran exported 3.66 million barrels a day on average, TankerTrackers.com data show, more than double the country's typical recent export pace of 1.5 million barrels a day. The higher-than-average exports have continued since the attack, though precise data isn't so far available, according to the service.
