DraftKings CEO Says Regulators Are Adjusting to Prediction Markets -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-05 01:23

1223 ET - DraftKings Chief Executive Jason Robins tells WSJ that state regulators are starting to accept prediction markets. In recent months, the CFTC's new chair Michael Selig has argued for the CFTC to have exclusive jurisdiction over prediction markets. Robins says state lawmakers that were once arguing for local control over prediction markets are now adjusting to the fact that the markets are here to stay. "For a time, there was a lot of effort to get the federal government to rein this in," Robins says. "Now most have accepted that won't happen any time soon." (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
