BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) launched the second generation of its Blade Battery, promising faster charging times even in temperatures well below freezing, according to media reports Thursday.
The new Blade Battery can charge rapidly from 20% to 97% in under 12 minutes and push the driving range of some BYD models beyond the 1,000-kilometer driving range, Reuters reported, citing the company's chairman Wang Chuanfu.
The company also reportedly plans to quintuple its flash charging network to 20,000 stations from 4,000 stations by the end of 2026.
