A heavy slate of economic data headlines the first week of March, culminating in the February jobs report. Investors are also weighing earnings, including from Costco and Kroger, as well as market fallout from the conflict in the Middle East.

-- Economic data: Preliminary productivity and costs data for last quarter, plus weekly initial jobless claims.
-- Federal Reserve: Vice Chair Michelle Bowman is due to speak at 1:15 p.m. ET
-- Homeland Security shutdown: The partial government closure continues.
Friday, March 6
-- Economic data: Nonfarm payrolls for February are due at 8:30 a.m. Also: December's manufacturing and trade inventories and sales estimates, plus the retail sales report for January.
