Alibaba (BABA), ByteDance and Tencent are among the Chinese technology companies turning to domestic chipmakers to help meet demand amid a global shortage of memory chips, The Information reported Thursday, citing four people with direct knowledge of the matter.
The three tech firms are in talks to buy additional standard memory chips from two Chinese companies to keep their data centers operating, according to the report.
Alibaba didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
