A US Court of International Trade judge on Wednesday ordered the US government to refund tariffs to importers, affecting millions of goods, according to a same-day court filing.

In a case brought by Atmus Filtration Technologies (ATMU), Judge Richard Eaton ordered the US Customs and Border Protection to finalize the cost of the imports without assessing the tariffs, the filing showed.

The US government collected over $130 billion in illegal tariff payments, according to a Reuters report on Wednesday.

More than 2,000 lawsuits have been filed by companies seeking repayment, including Costco Wholesale (COST) and FedEx (FDX), The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday evening.
