United States Antimony (UAMY) said Thursday it received a $27 million award from the US Department of Defense under the Defense Production Act to expand domestic antimony processing capacity.
The mining company said the funding is intended to support upgrades and capacity expansion at its Montana operations to refine antimony used in batteries, munitions, flame retardants, and other applications.
The investment will also support efforts to begin antimony mining activities in Alaska, United States Antimony said.
The company said it will contribute about $3.9 million toward the project, representing roughly 14.4% of the total funding.
The award is part of a total investment of $58.5 million under the Defense Production Act announced since the start of fiscal 2026, the company said.
Shares of the company were up over 4% in recent premarket activity Thursday.
