Sony Group (TYO:6758) is planning to keep major single-player PlayStation titles exclusive to the PlayStation 5, scaling back a strategy of releasing games on personal computers, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Under the plan, multiplayer titles such as Marathon and Marvel Tokon will still launch across multiple platforms. However, single-player titles including Ghost of Yotei and the upcoming action game Saros are expected to remain PlayStation-exclusive, the people told Bloomberg.
Plans to bring some internally developed titles, including Ghost of Yotei, to PC have recently been dropped, according to the people cited by the news agency. Some games from external developers but published by PlayStation - including Death Stranding 2 and Kena: Scars of Kosmora - are still scheduled for PC releases this year, according to the report.
A PlayStation spokesperson refused to comment on the matter, Bloomberg said.
