Adidas's Conservative Outlook Could Raise Concerns -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-06

1239 GMT - Adidas's guidance could prompt concerns around its competitiveness and the potential indirect impact of tariffs on U.S. consumer demand, AlphaValue analyst Jie Zhang says in a note. The German sporting-goods company reported 2025 results that confirmed strong operational momentum and continued brand recovery, the analyst says. However, the outlook for this year appears slightly disappointing, particularly regarding operating profit, she adds. Both 2026 and mid-term targets seem very conservative relative to recent momentum, particularly on profitability, Zhang says. "Management's prudence raises worries related to ongoing U.S. uncertainties and the competitive landscape across key markets for the year ahead." Shares are up 0.6% at 145.90 euros.
