LIVE MARKETS-Retail keeps buying big tech

RETAIL KEEPS BUYING BIG TECH

Retail investors' love of U.S. big tech and chipmakers must be getting close to death and taxes in terms of world constants.

And analysts at Vanda point say "Even against a backdrop of rising geopolitical tension, retail flows remain firmly concentrated in the core AI trade"

The say NVIDIA NVDA.O continues to dominate allocations, with $1.58 billion of net inflows from retail investors across the five days to Thursday in the U.S., while Advanced Micro Devices AMD.O saw inflows of $44.5 million and Broadcom AVGO.O of $35.2 million.

Among the other giants, Microsoft MSFT.O had inflows from retail of$86.0 million in the period , Alphabet GOOGL.O of $42.3 million, and Amazon AMZN.O of $15.9 million

"The bottom line is," Vanda analysts say, "AI and hyperscale names are increasingly being treated as the most resilient part of the equity market, even as geopolitical uncertainty rises."
