MT Newswires Live03-05 19:40

Trade Desk (TTD) and Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI had early discussions to form a collaboration to support the latter sell its ads, The Information reported Wednesday, citing three unnamed sources familiar with the talks.

OpenAI intends to eventually develop its ad tech functions in-house, the report said, citing an unnamed source having knowledge of the matter.

The ChatGPT maker is also in talks with other brands, media agencies, and ad tech companies as part of the early ads pilot, one of the people told The Information.

Neither Trade Desk nor OpenAI immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

Trade Desk shares were up more than 17% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
