European Semiconductor Stocks Fall as Iran War Drags on -- Market Talk

0918 GMT - Shares of semiconductor companies in Europe edge lower Monday as investors brace for deeper economic fallout from the Iran war. Shares of Dutch semiconductor-equipment maker ASML Holding and smaller rival ASM International are down 5% and 3.3%, respectively. German chip maker Infineon Technologies is down 4.1%. STMicroelectronics--which supplies Apple, Samsung Electronics and Tesla--is down 2.6%. The declines in Europe follow losses in Asian stocks like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which closed 4.2% lower. South Korean memory-chip maker SK Hynix--which supplies Nvidia--closed 9.5% lower. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
