Lululemon athletica founder Chip Wilson has cautioned prospective chief-executive candidates that the company's challenges stem from its board rather than its leadership vacancy.
In his latest broadside against the athleisure giant he founded, Wilson said in a letter to potential CEO applicants that a new leader alone won't resolve what he sees as governance issues at the company.
Since December, Wilson, a major shareholder, has been on a campaign against the company's board, accusing it of weak oversight and slow engagement as he continues to push for sweeping changes.
The company has been searching for a new CEO since Calvin McDonald said in December that he would be stepping down at the end of January.
In the letter, Wilson reiterated the scale of change he believes is needed at lululemon and used the moment to promote his three preferred board nominees ahead of this year's annual meeting.
Earlier in March, Wilson launched a website as part of his intensified campaign against the athleticwear company.
