1107 GMT - The EU's recently adopted framework to support public investments in clean energy may help counter high energy prices in the wake of the Iran conflict, Teresa Ribera, the European Commission's top competition enforcer, says at a conference in Berlin. Member states have untapped state aid possibilities at their disposal to give relief to electricity prices, she adds, noting that the EU's Clean Industrial State Aid Framework gives the possibility of providing short-term relief to the electricity bills of companies in energy-intensive industries and supports the bloc's decarbonization push. "It was designed to support the transformation...Is it fit for providing answers to deep increases in energy prices in an emergency context? I'm sure that this is a discussion that we will be having if the current crisis stays too long with us." (edith.hancock@wsj.com)
