Ryanair to Cut 1 Route to Vilnius, Lithuania Due to Rising Airport Access Costs

MT Newswires Live03-11

Ryanair (RYAAY) said Wednesday it plans to cut one route to Vilnius, Lithuania in summer 2026 due to rising airport access costs.

The increase in airport access charges of more than 30% at Vilnius International Airport since 2023 has made the country "uncompetitive" compared to other markets in Central and Eastern Europe, the airline said.

"Unless urgent action is taken to restore competitiveness, Vilnius will continue to stagnate and lose routes while other CEE markets thrive," said Alicja Wojcik-Golebiowska, Ryanair's head of communications for CEE and Baltics.
