Airbus Helicopters signed a contract to deliver up to 18 Flexrotor Uncrewed Aerial Systems to Garuda Technologies.

Garuda will offer Flexrotor services to its customers through both dry and wet lease options for infrastructure inspection, law enforcement, search, wildfire monitoring and disaster relief.

The Flexrotor is a vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial system that can operate from confined land areas and from ships without flight decks. It can go from stowed to airborne in less than half an hour, Airbus said.

Garuda, which is owned by the Indian-based drone startup Garuda Aerospace, is expanding its operations into North America.

Financial terms of the contract weren't disclosed.
