Tech stocks rose late Monday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) adding 1.8% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 2.5%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 3.6%.
In corporate news, Joby Aviation (JOBY), Archer Aviation (ACHR), BETA Technologies (BETA), and Electra.aero will launch electrically powered air-taxi trials in more than two dozen US states following regulatory approval for pilot projects, Bloomberg reported. Joby shares rose 4.1%, Archer added 3.4%, and BETA jumped 12%.
