United Microelectronics (UMC), its unit Wavetek Microelectronics, and HyperLight will collaborate for high-volume foundry production of HyperLight's thin-film lithium niobate Chiplet Platform, the companies said Wednesday.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The companies said they will work on ramping up the commercialization and manufacturing of TFLN photonics needed for artificial intelligence infrastructure deployment at scale.
Under the agreement, HyperLight will serve as platform architect, while United Microelectronics and Wavetek will provide the high-volume foundry manufacturing infrastructure, they said.
