Papa John's International (PZZA) is reviewing an offer from Qatari-backed investment fund Irth Capital Management to take the company private at $47 per share, or about $1.5 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The bid includes backing from Brookfield (BN), the report said, citing the people.

Papa John's and Brookfield didn't immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
