European Semiconductor Stocks Rebound After Trump Says Iran War Will End Soon -- Market Talk

1136 GMT - Shares of semiconductor companies in Europe edge higher Tuesday after President Trump said the Iran war would be over "very soon." Shares of Dutch semiconductor-equipment maker ASML Holding and smaller rival ASM International are up 3.5% and 2.9%, respectively. German chip maker Infineon Technologies is up 6%. STMicroelectronics--which supplies Apple, Samsung Electronics and Tesla--is up 3.9%. The rebound in Europe follows gains in Asian stocks like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which closed 2.2% higher. South Korean memory-chip maker SK Hynix--which supplies Nvidia--closed 12% higher. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
