Qualcomm, Wayve Collaborate to Add AI Driving Software to Automotive Platform

Qualcomm's (QCOM) Qualcomm Technologies unit and self-driving company Wayve said Tuesday they are collaborating to integrate Wayve's AI Driver software with the Snapdragon Ride automotive platform.

Financial terms were not provided.

The combined system is intended to provide automakers with a ready-to-deploy advanced driver assistance and automated driving framework, the companies said.

The system is designed for use across global vehicle platforms and different vehicle segments, according to the joint statement.

The companies said they also plan to examine the use of Qualcomm chips in future Level 4 autonomous robotaxi applications.

Shares of Qualcomm were down 2.9% in early Tuesday trading.
