Money managers are competing fiercely for space in investors' portfolios, and BlackRock executive Jessica Tan is in the thick of the fray. Tan has responsibility for the firm's exchange-traded funds business in the U.S., its largest market. As head of the Americas for global product solutions, Tan is among BlackRock's key decision-makers in conceptualizing new investment products and bringing them to life.

Based in New York, Tan joined BlackRock in 2010 after completing an internship there during business school. She has at different points led global corporate strategy, sustainable and transition solutions, and, from 2017 to 2019, she was BlackRock CEO Larry Fink's chief of staff.

Since the global product solutions group was formed two years ago, Tan has overseen more than 60 ETF launches -- including several offering crypto exposure -- and the formation of other funds, such as private-markets vehicles. The U.S. ETF business notched record inflows of $365 billion last year.

"I'm really proud to be leading this team that's reimagining product innovation," Tan says.
