India's Total Exports Rise 11.1% in February; Swings to Trade Deficit

India's total exports of goods and services increased by 11.05% to $76.13 billion in February from $68.56 billion a year ago, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on Monday.

Total imports grew 21.64% year-over-year to $80.09 billion in February from $65.84 billion, swinging to a trade deficit to $3.96 billion, compared with a trade surplus of $2.72 billion.

The country's exports of goods slipped to $36.61 billion in February, from $36.91 billion a year earlier, while services exports increased to $39.53 billion, from $31.65 billion.

On the import side, goods imports increased to $63.71 billion in the reported month from $51.33 billion a year earlier, while services imports climbed to $16.38 billion from $14.51 billion.
