1219 ET - Bumble is working to offer an AI-driven dating assistant and matchmaker on its platform, part of a push to prioritize fewer but more relevant matches and attract users tired of swiping. The feature, called Bee, would chat with users about their relationship goals, communication style and lifestyle, then use that information to find compatible matches, CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd says during a call with analysts. Bumble is testing a pilot of Bee internally and will launch the tool in beta soon, she says. "Done right, AI helps the network function better by prioritizing fewer more relevant matches over volume, combating swipe fatigue, and moving members more efficiently towards real world connections," she says.
