Lockheed Martin (LMT) said Thursday it has transferred the second Aegis System Equipped Vessel shipset of AN/SPY-7(V)1 radar equipment to Japan's Ministry of Defense.

The delivery was arranged via a direct commercial sale involving Mitsubishi, the company said.

Complete system integration, along with testing of the second equipment set, will happen before the final delivery to Japan to lower integration risks, Lockheed Martin said.

Japan is procuring two of the vessels with commissioning scheduled for fiscal years 2027 and 2028, following the initial radar shipment in June 2025, according to a statement.
