Lucid Introduces 2-Seat Robotaxi Concept Called Lunar Based on Midsize Platform

MT Newswires Live00:41

Lucid (LCID) on Thursday introduced a two-seat robotaxi concept called Lunar, based on its upcoming Midsize platform.

While still in the concept phase, the purpose-build Lunar is designed "to maximize efficiency, utilization, and lifetime operating economics," the company said.

At its investor day in New York, Lucid said it continues to advance talks with Uber (UBER), as the companies aim to finalize an agreement to deploy Lucid Midsize platform vehicles at a scale similar to the Gravity robotaxi program, the company said.

The Midsize platform has been engineered to offer a more accessible price point, with vehicles starting below $50,000, and is powered by the new electric drive unit Atlas, the company said.

Lucid shares were 6.6% lower in Thursday trading.
