Stocks were down slightly at the open on Friday as investors continue to fret over rising oil prices and looked ahead to the release of personal consumption expenditures price index data for February.
These stocks were poised to make moves Friday:
Tesla was rising 0.5% in premarket trading. The electric-vehicle company was shrugging off moves from its rivals, as Rivian Automotive unveiled pricing and specifications for its long-awaited R2 platform on Thursday and Lucid Group said at an investor day that its new midsize-vehicle platform will include three models, and it introduced a robotaxi concept.
Adobe was down 8.6%. Better-than-expected fiscal first-quarter earnings were overshadowed by the resignation of the software company's long-time CEO Shantanu Narayen.
Ulta Beauty was falling 8.7%. The cosmetics and fragrances retailer guided for growth to slow this fiscal year, even after its fourth-quarter sales came in ahead of expectations.
SentinelOne was down 4.1%. The cybersecurity company reported a 20% jump in revenue, but posted a steeper loss in the fourth quarter and its first-quarter guidance underwhelmed the market.
Mosaic Co. was up 3.5% and CF Industries was rising 2.7% as fertilizer companies continued to gain on expectations shipping disruption in the Strait of Hormuz will boost prices.
