Kumiai Chemical Industry's Profit Slips 1.5% in Fiscal Q1

Kumiai Chemical Industry's (TYO:4996) profit attributable to owners of the parent slipped 1.5% to 3.94 billion yen in the fiscal first quarter from 4 billion yen a year earlier.

The agrochemical manufacturer's basic earnings per share declined to 32.75 yen from 33.26 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing.

Net sales rose 7.7% to 46.7 billion yen for the three months ended Jan. 31 from 43.4 billion yen in the prior-year period.

For the fiscal year ending Oct. 31, the company expects attributable profit of 6.4 billion yen, basic EPS of 53.15 yen, and net sales of 162.0 billion yen.

Kumiai Chemical Industry plans to pay an interim dividend of 10 yen per share and a year-end dividend of 14 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
