Tech stocks were mixed late Friday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) down 0.7% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 0.2%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was fractionally higher.
In corporate news, Meta Platforms (META) has halted part of work on a planned 28,000-mile underwater cable system called 2Africa due to the Iran conflict, Bloomberg reported. Separately, Meta has postponed the launch of its AI model Avocado to at least May as the tool fell short of internal tests, The New York Times reported. Meta shares were down 3.9%.
