Eni (E) said Monday it has made two new offshore gas discoveries in Libya as part of an exploration effort initiated in recent months.
The Italian oil major said that two adjacent sites, Bahr Essalam South 2 and Bahr Essalam South 3, have been successfully drilled.
The two sites are approximately 85 kilometers (52.8 miles) off the coast in about 650 feet of water, the company said.
The company estimates that the two fields jointly contain more than 1 trillion cubic feet of gas.
