Netflix (NFLX) and Sony (SONY) have confirmed a KPop: Demon Hunters sequel is in the works, aiming for a 2029 release, multiple news outlets reported on Thursday.

Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans will return to direct and write the sequel, according to Variety.

Kang and Appelhans are still in the early stages of writing and will focus on the script more after the awards season, the Hollywood Reporter said.

The Hollywood Reporter added that no date has been set for the sequel, and the previously announced 2029 release is unlikely, as animated projects of this scale usually take years to complete.

Netflix and Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
