BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) will launch a premium electric vehicle in Europe on April 8 that can charge in minutes, according to a Friday press release.
The Denza Z9GT offers a driving range of up to 800 kilometers, the carmaker said.
Using BYD's latest fast-charging system, the car can charge from 10% to 70% in about five minutes and from 20% to 97% in around 12 minutes, even at temperatures as low as minus 30°C.
BYD said it plans to begin installing compatible high-power chargers across Europe this summer to support the model.
