Intel (INTC) and Versa have expanded their collaboration to support artificial intelligence processing at the network edge, Versa said Thursday.

The goal of the partnership is to pilot AI inference for certain AI and machine learning workloads, including traditional machine learning, deep neural networks, and small language models, running directly within branch, campus, and other edge infrastructure, the company added.

The deal will combine Intel Xeon 6 processors with VersaONE and VOS, which provide software for secure networking, policy management, and AI workloads, the company said.
