HSBC to Issue $2.5 Billion in Debt

HSBC (HKG:0005) said it plans to issue $2.5 billion worth of debt, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Wednesday.

The bank plans to issue $1.25 billion in 6.75% perpetual subordinated contingent convertible securities due 2031 and $1.25 billion in 7% perpetual subordinated contingent convertible securities due 2036.

The issue is planned for March 24.
