Lloyds Banking (LYG) is subject to questions concerning a technical issue that allowed certain users to access external account details on a mobile application on March 12, the UK Treasury Committee said in a statement Tuesday.

Committee Chair Meg Hillier has written to Lloyds Banking about the improper disclosure of individuals' account details and described the incident as an "alarming breach of confidentiality" while seeking details regarding the number of impacted users, projected compensation payouts, and the specific data exposed, according to the statement.

The committee requested follow-up reports one month after the initial bank response and again in six months, it added.

Lloyds Banking did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
