Freshpet Shares Fall After Ad Group Says 'Human Grade' Claims Should Cease

MT Newswires Live03-18

Freshpet (FRPT) shares fell by more than 8% in Tuesday trading after the National Advertising Division of BBB National Programs advised the company to cease advertisements suggesting that its dog food is "human grade."

The decision stemmed from a challenge from Farmer's Dog, a Freshpet competitor, which argued that three video advertisements included various statements and images that implied that Freshpet's dog food was human grade.

Freshpet said it will comply with the recommendations, the organization said.

Freshpet and Farmer's Dog did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comments.
