Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) bought back 969,425 shares in London on Tuesday at an average price of around 15.91 pounds sterling apiece, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.
The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have 2.24 billion shares in issue.
