Meta Platforms (META) has roped in the co-founder and team of artificial intelligence startup Dreamer to join its Meta Superintelligence Labs group, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing an internal company post.
The hires from the startup, which was launched to help people create their own AI agents, include co-founder Hugo Barra, also a Meta and Alphabet's Google (GOOG, GOOGL) alum, according to the report.
The Dreamer team will report to Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang, the report added, citing the internal post.
The new hires will work on AI agents and related projects, but the deal does not include Dreamer's technology, Bloomberg reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.
Meta did not immediately respond to a MT Newswires' request for comment.
Shares of Meta rose more than 2% in Monday afternoon trading.
