0701 GMT - Posco Holdings could benefit from higher steel prices starting in 2Q, Hanwha Investment & Securities' Kwon Ji-woo says. The South Korean steelmaker is likely to pass through February-March cost increases from 2Q onward, the analyst writes in a note. Posco's 1Q earnings are likely to be largely in line with market expectations, keeping it on track for an earnings recovery this year, Kwon says. He cites Chinese steelmakers' continued production cuts as a favorable market factor for Posco. Its construction unit is set to turn profitable while its battery unit is poised to narrow losses, he adds. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
