Consumers Continue to Book Cruises, Spend on Board -- Market Talk

Dow Jones00:48

1247 ET - Carnival's fiscal year is off to a strong start, CEO Josh Weinstein says on a call with analysts. The cruise line's F1Q results were better than expected, he says, reflecting healthy fundamentals and solid execution across the business. Weinstein notes that demand remains strong, as consumers continue to book cruises and spend more on board despite higher prices. "Guests are engaging earlier in the vacation journey, purchasing more inclusive packages, excursions and other experiences before they even step on board," he says. "That trend is contributing to higher onboard revenue and reflects the value guests place on the experiences our cruise line delivers."(connor.hart@wsj.com)
