GE Healthcare Technologies (GEHC) said Thursday it took on the lead industrial role in the COMPASS consortium, a new public-private partnership aimed at advancing cardio-oncology care across Europe.

The five-year project, with a total budget of 50.5 million euros ($58.3 million), focuses on advancing the early detection of cardiovascular risks in cancer patients, the company said.

The project is co-funded under the Horizon Europe framework as part of the Innovative Health Initiative, which is a public-private partnership between the EU and the European life science industries, according to a statement.
