AES Extends Consent Deadline for 2028 Notes

MT Newswires Live03-25

AES (AES) said Wednesday that it has extended the deadline for its consent solicitation on $900 million of 5.45% senior notes due 2028 to Friday, from the earlier March 24 cutoff.

The company said holders representing about 43% of the notes had agreed to the proposed amendments as of the initial deadline.

Approval from a majority of holders is required for the changes to take effect, the company said, adding if approved, a total of $2.25 million will be paid to participating noteholders.

AES said all other terms remain unchanged, and holders who have already submitted consents do not need to take further action.

Separately, the company said it has terminated consent solicitations for its 3.950% notes due 2030 and 2.450% notes due 2031 after failing to obtain the required approvals by March 24.
