March 27 (Reuters) - Bourse operators Bursa Malaysia BMYS.KL and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing 0388.HK signed an agreement on Friday to explore streamlined dual-listing pathways and other cross-border investment opportunities between the two markets.
Here are some details:
The collaboration spans dual listings, exchange traded funds (ETFs), indexes, sharia-compliant securities and carbon markets.
As the first initiative under the collaboration, Bursa Malaysia and HKEX unveiled the HKEX Bursa Malaysia Large Cap Index on Friday.
The index comprises 30 Malaysian blue-chip companies and 30 Hong Kong Southbound-eligible large-cap companies.
"Expanding our engagement with the region is a key strategic priority as we continue our work to build a multi-asset product ecosystem, drawing global liquidity to Asia at a time of heightened macro uncertainties," said Bonnie Y Chan, CEO of HKEX.
