An American sailor was injured during flight operations aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and is in stable condition, according to the U.S. 5th Fleet. The ship was performing flight missions in the Arabian Sea at the time and the sailor's injury was not combat-related or life-threatening, the Navy said.

The sailor was taken ashore for additional medical attention and the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group will continue its missions in support of Operation Epic Fury, the statement added. USS Abraham Lincoln was the second aircraft carrier deployed to the Middle East early this year.
