1439 ET - Cybersecurity stocks are weaker across the board following a report from Fortune magazine that Anthropic is developing a new Claude AI model with more advanced cyber capabilities. But, D.A. Davidson thinks investor fears may be misplaced. "We believe it is highly unlikely that the frontier labs will be able to develop solutions with real-time detection & response capabilities that have similar or superior efficacy as those from existing cybersecurity vendors," analyst Rudy Kessinger says in a note. While headlines are likely to continue driving sell-offs for cybersecurity stocks, Kessinger says that over the long-term, AI will only increase security risk, boosting demand for cybersecurity companies and driving material benefit as early as the second half of this year.
