Here Are The Stock Market's Biggest Winners This Month -- WSJ

Dow Jones03-31

By Hannah Erin Lang

It's been a pretty rough month for stocks. But all those wild swings have minted some winners-most of them, unsurprisingly, in the energy sector. Here are some of the best-performing tickers this month, as of Tuesday morning trading:

-- Energy exchange-traded funds: The United States Oil Fund LP is up about 59% in March, its best monthly performance on record. The State Street SPDR Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF is up more than 20%, on pace to notch its best month since October 2022.

-- Refineries and other energy companies: Phillips 66, Chevron and Exxon Mobil are all still on track to notch their best quarterly performance on record.

-- Dow Inc. and CF Industries: Dow is on pace for its best month on record. Shares of CF Industries, down slightly today, are having their best month since 2020. Investors have been betting that domestic companies like CF Industries, a fertilizer maker, and the chemical company Dow will be able to raise prices while keeping their input costs lower than international competitors.
