0432 GMT - BYD's earnings likely bottomed in 1Q, say UOB Kay Hian analysts in a note. The Chinese auto maker's 4Q profit was in line with UOB KH's estimates but missed consensus projections due to weaker revenue, they say. Nonetheless, they expect BYD's earnings to recover from 2Q this year thanks to upcoming technology launches and its overseas expansion. Its external battery sales also surged in 2025 and could grow at a 38% compound annual growth rate over 2026-2028. The analysts raise their 2026-2027 net profit estimates by 58%-100%. UOB KH thus upgrades its rating to buy from sell and lifts its target price to HK$130.00 from HK$81.00. Shares are down 2.2% at HK$102.40. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
