European Energy Majors Jump on Oil Price Hike -- Market Talk

0733 GMT - European energy stocks are trading higher after oil prices jumped following President Trump's address late Wednesday vowing to hit Iran "extremely hard" in the coming weeks. London-listed oil majors BP and Shell were leading the flagship FTSE 100 index and up 3.1% and 2.4%, respectively. Elsewhere, TotalEnergies, Repsol and Eni were up 2.1%, 3.2% and 3.0%, respectively. The front-month Brent contract for June delivery was up 6.6% to $107.82 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate futures for May rose 6.1% to* $106.19 a barrel. (ian.walker@wsj.com)
