1024 ET - Cal-Maine logs a more than 50% drop in sales during the recent quarter, hurt by materially lower egg prices compared with the historically high pricing seen last year amid supply shortages tied to avian flu outbreaks. "The disruption hasn't gone away and is still a reality," CEO Sherman Miller says on a call with analysts. "But it's not driving the same level of supply shock or panic-driven purchasing." That's showing up in pricing, he continues. Cal-Maine says selling prices for standard eggs were down 70% from last year during its latest quarter, while prices for premium eggs were down 17%.
